Guide Dogs TVC

In June I had the pleasure of teaming up with Guide Dogs UK and Nice Shirt for their latest TV advert. It was a slightly different format to what the charity usually do so I felt the responsibility of making the experience a good one on my shoulders.

The ad tells the story of Stacey, who was studying to be a nurse when she lost her sight from a severe illness and who then faced the uphill battle of regaining her inherent positivity and big life dreams back.

After her recovery Stacey was 100% set on having a Guide Dog so when the charity called to say a little puppy called Toffee was available she was over the moon. Working together with Toffee Stacey began to find her confidence again and move forward towards a new job, getting married and even redeveloping the home kitchen!

Sweaty Betty | SEEN

This shoot for Sweaty Betty was an absolutely blast and the perfect way to get back on set after the Covid hiatus! I loved working with the team and what makes this uplifting shoot even more impressive is that it’s featuring a whole bunch of bold, inspirational ladies from the brand itself.

It was so great to chat to each of them on set and hear their motivations for stepping out of their comfort zone, getting in front of the camera and giving 💯% in order to help promote the new SEEN campaign.

High fives for the confidence shown that day! 🙌🏻

The Fell Runner Awarded Finalist in 2020 AOP Awards

I’m incredibly honoured that our passion project The Fell Runner has made finalist selection at this years Association of Photographer awards.

With 2020 seeing moving image being introduced to the awards we entered the film into the Lifestyle category, hoping our protagonist Calum and his love for the Fells would strike a chord with the judges.

Throughout the film we explore the natural landscape alongside Calum, hearing first hand what drives him to keep running over such challenging but beautiful terrain. There’s an intensity in his words and the environment, but also a real softness to his character and love for the sport. I think that it’s this slightly unusual combination which gives the project a certain warmth, intrigue and appeal.

New Work | Straight Outta Lockdown

’Straight Outta Lockdown’, a film made just after Spring lockdown ended and we all emerged into what seems to be a very different world for the time being.

We asked a few people to describe their lockdown experience and share some of the lighter moments; How has their life and the lives of people around them changed? And what about the future?

Shot on Super8, MiniDV, 35mm and digital. You can find the film over on the Projects page.

New Work | Hydro K

New work from the lockdown period, a short film featuring dancer and all round good guy @kelseyhydromiller.

Kelsey is a dancer from London. Growing up he battled with a life threatening illness, and won, shaping his outlook and redefining his path towards teaching.

He talks about how this has fed into his philosophy on life, and influenced his approach to movement. Kelsey’s story is testament to finding inner strength by using dance to channel positivity and resilience.

Check out the film here.
