Mother’s Love is a deeply personal film for me which I made in response to becoming a mother.

After a prolonged period of doubt and uncertainty, and a pressing fear that motherhood would result in a loss of identity, I found myself stunned at how rapidly the mind could shift into a space of acceptance and love. I discovered a whole new facet of who I am: how much I’m capable of, how much I can give, and a depth of love that I don’t think I could ever have understood before having children.

I made Mother’s Love because I wanted to capture something truthful about that experience. Not an idealised version of motherhood, but the intimacy, warmth, humour and tiny everyday gestures through which that enormous love is expressed.
